First I am a reader.

Hey, gotta do something to balance the insanity. Two kids, a cat who thinks she's a princess, a couple tear-around-the-house grandcats (*crash* skitter skitter) and a husband who reads anything and everything at the speed of light—including cereal boxes.

My husband's my partner. I met him in a high school music theory class. He walked in and I thought he was the most gorgeous man I'd ever seen, the man of my dreams. Then he opened his mouth—and promptly got into an argument with another kid. So much for dream-guys. Eventually I figured out real-life guys are much better, although a lot more work.

Career? I wanted to be a scientist but couldn't cut the silver nitrate labs. So I went into computer science (it's got science in the title, right?).  Although first I became a musician (see husband, above). When I finally graduated from college ten years after I started, I had two degrees and my first child.

I taught religion and taekwondo, worked as everything from a cleaning temp for nursing homes to jet-setting project manager, and managed to come out on the other end relatively intact. Currently I'm a working musician, a computer consultant and a writer. I live in the United States Midwest.
